COVID-19 Testing Offered Without Appointments Or Referrals.

Hagerstown, Md (KM) Meritus Health says it’s offering COVID-19 testing for all residents who have symptoms of the virus. No appointments or referrals are necessary..

Meritus Health says it’s offering this service in support of Governor Larry Hogan’s; recent announcement that expanding testing capacity was an essential part of the reopening of the state after the coronavirus dies down.

“Our two screening centers in Washington County will no longer ‘require’ or encourage residents to receive direction from a health care professional before coming in for a COVID-19 test,” says Dr. Mahesh Krihnamoorthy, M.D, one of two working on COVID-19 initiatives for Meritus Health. “If you or your loved one have symptoms consistent with COVID-19, please visit one of our screening centers to be tested.” Dr. Krihnamoorty comments were contained in a statement.

A drive-through testing facility for the coronavirus is located at the Meritus Health Plaza at 13620 Crayton Boulevard. It’s open from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday, and on the weekends from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM on each day.

There’s also a walk-through screening center 24 North Walnut Street in Hagerstown. It’s open from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Testing is available for all ages.

The symptoms of COVID-19 are a fever of 100.5 degrees, a dry cough, shortness of breath or sore throat.
