Spokeswoman Ragina Ali says the auto club’s car care center around Maryland will be offering free oil changes for these individuals who need their vehicles to get to and from work.  This offer last through Saturday, May 1st.

“This free service that we’re doing is for AAA members or non-AAA members. You just have to be a first responder or health care professional at this time,” says Ali.  .

During this time, she  says, AAA memberships are available for first responders and health care professionals. If they sign up, they can get a 50% off primary dues. There’s also one free associate membership for those who are already AAA  members.

First responders are police officers, deputies, state troopers, fire fighters, medics  and EMT’s. Health care professionals are physicians, nurses and others who work in the medical field. Ali says they should bring their identifications with them when coming in for the oil change.

The Frederick AAA Car Care Center is located at 5620 Buckeystown Pike (Md. 85) across from Lowe’s Hardware.

“It is just a small token of appreciation that AAA is offering, recognizing that this is a rough time for many,” Ali says. “While some of use have the option to stay at home and work, many do not.”

AAA is offering standard oil changes at no cost for first responders, and health care professionals, or $35 off synthetic oil changes.

During this COVID-19 pandemic, AAA reminds all motorists to take precautions inside their vehicles. “To be sure to clean and wipe down the inside of their vehicle, cleaning the steering wheel, gear shift, the door, the dashboard, any exposed surfaces, using a damp cloth with a small amount of soap,” says Ali, who advises against using products with alcohol or bleach which could cause a crack or discoloring of their vehicle’s leather or vinyl.
