Annapolis, Md. (DG) – There were more difficulties over the weekend for Maryland residents trying to file for unemployment insurance, the website was taken offline due to technical issues.

The Labor Department posted on its website Sunday morning that they were experiencing technical issues with the online BEACON application and had a team of professionals working to resolve them.

By Sunday evening the department tweeted: Update as of 7:00 pm: After taking the application down for maintenance this afternoon, the BEACON One-Stop application is back online, but is operating at slower speeds. Unfortunately, our vendor cannot guarantee that additional technical difficulties will not arise. the BEACON One-Stop application was back online and apologized for any inconvenience.
