Flood Warning Extended To 11:45 PM For Northern Frederick County

 

Small streams could overflow their banks.

 

The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a

* Flood Warning for Small Streams in...
  Northwestern Carroll County in north central Maryland...
  Northeastern Frederick County in north central Maryland...

* Until 1145 PM EDT.

* At 751 PM EDT, the reporting gauge at Bridgeport on the Monocacy
  River indicated the river at flood stage. Up to 2.5 inches of rain
  fell earlier today.  Small streams in the warned area are likely
  out of their banks.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Taneytown, Keysville and Harney.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.
