Flood Warning Issued For Northwestern Frederick County

The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a

* Flood Warning for Small Streams in...
  Northwestern Frederick County in north central Maryland...

* Until 315 PM EDT.

* At 1109 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
  that heavy rain has been falling over the area. The heavy rain
  will cause flooding. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen,
  especially in the Sabillasville and Thurmont areas.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Thurmont, Emmitsburg, Walkersville, Wolfsville, Woodsboro,
  Sabillasville, Fort Ritchie, Pleasant Walk, Rocky Ridge, Utica,
  Graceham and Lewistown.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.
