It will be the first of its kind in western Maryland.
Hagerstown, Md (KM) The first drive-through COVID-19 testing site in western Maryland will open on Tuesday. The Governor’s Office announced it will be located at the Hagerstown Vehicle Emissions Inspection Program (VEIP) center in the 12100 Insurance Way. .
The Washington County Joint Information Center says testing will be conducted on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and on an appointment-only basis for Maryland residents who have the symptoms of the coronavirus, and a high risk of complications from COVID-19.
Anyone who wants to get tested needs to contact their physician, who will order the test and schedule the test through CRISP, the state’s health information exchange. Patients cannot order a test for themselves, according to the Joint Information Center.
Test results are usually available within three to five days. The Joint Information Center says patients who have not received those results should contact their physician.
