Deaths increase in Frederick County to 73.
Frederick, Md (KM) There’s been a big jump in the number of coronavirus cases reported in Frederick County. The Health Department says as of Friday afternoon, there are 1,224 COVID-19 cases., an increase of 53 from the day before. The number of deaths is reported at 73, two more than on Thursday.
In Washington County, the Joint Information Center reports 270 COVID-19 cases as of Friday afternoon, which is five more than the day before. The number deaths remains at eight.
Statewide, the Maryland Department of Health reports 30, 458 COVID-19 cases as of Friday, an increase of 1,111 .within the last 24 hours. The number of deaths stand at 1,453, an increase of 52 from the day before.
Health officials say coronavirus cases will continue to go as more testing is conducted.
