New Web Portal Installed For County Council Meetings

Citizens can comment while watching public meetings.

 

Frederick, Md (KM) Frederick County Government has launched a web portal to provide new ways for the public to participate in Council meetings.

Residents can watch the meetings, and use a toll free number to leave voice messages that may be aired during the meeting. There is also a built-in translation service for those to whom English is not their native tongue.

The new web portal can be found at www.FrederickMarylandMD.gov/CouncilMeetings.

County officials say new features will added to the portal in the coming weeks, including the ability to listen to live meeting over the phone for citizens who do not have access to the internet or cable television.

Residents who want to a message for the County Council can call 1-855-925-2801, and provide the appropriate meeting code, which for the meeting on Tuesday, May 12th is 8365..

County Council meetings are broadcast over Cable Channels 19 and 1085. They’re also streamed live at www.FrederickCountyMD.gov/CouncilMeetings. Past meetings can be viewed at www.FrederickCountyMD.gov/FCGTV.

The County Council began holding virtual meetings in April to allow citizen access to their elected officials during the COVID-19 pandemic,  as access to most county buildings is limited.
