The targeted areas is Canada Hill Rd. Rt. 40′

Frederick, Md (KM) If you’re planning to hike the Appalachian Trail anytime soon, the Maryland State Police remind you to park your vehicle legally. Troopers say a number of people have been parking along Canada Hill Road and Route 40 despite the presence of “No Parking” signs.

Authorities say they’ve received complaints from Residents. They say this inhibits the view of motorists pulling out of Canada Hill Road on to Route 40.

State troopers and Natural Resources Police say they  will begin enforcing the “No Parking” regulations along that road on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the summer months. Violators could be issued a $60 citation.

Residents are encouraged to come early in order to find legal parking,; or pay to park at Greenbrier State Park which is adjacent to the Appalachian Trail.
