The victim was stabbed in the stomach area.
Frederick, Md (KM) A Frederick man was taken into custody Monday night following a stabbing. Benyam Hailu, 39, is charged with 1st-degree assault, 2nd-degree assault, and reckless endangerment.
Officers responded to the 1300 block of West 7th Street for an assault. During an investigation, police say the victim told them the suspect approached him in the 1100 block of West 7th Street, and began yelling at him. He then pulled a knife and stabbed the victim in the stomach area..
The victim was treated on scene, for minor lacerations, but refused additional medical care.
Hailu was located near where the assault occurred, and placed under arrest.
Police say information gathered from their investigation revealed that the assault resulted from an isolated incident between two people who knew each other.
