Phase Two Of Md Strong Road Map To Recovery To Begin On Friday

Governor says the state has seen positivity rates for COVID-19 decline recently.

 

 

Annapolis, Md (KM) With positivity rates and hospitalizations for COVID-19 decreasing, Governor Larry Hogan has announced that Maryland is ready to enter Stage Two of its recovery plan.

During a news conference in Annapolis on Wednesday, the State’s Chief Executive said as of 5:00 PM on Friday, June 5th, the order closing all non-essential businesses will be lifted. They include manufacturing, construction, large and small retail shops, specialty vendors and law offices. They all must have public health and safety guidance recommendations in place.

Personal services such as nail salons and tanning salons can reopen at 50% capacity and  by appointment only, and with safety protocols in place..

The Governor also said some state offices can begin reopening on Monday, June 8th.. MVA branch offices will be doing a phased reopening, and the Maryland State Department of Education will allow child care centers to reopen.
