New Market Providing Financial Assistance To Businesses Affected By COVID-19

Deadline for applying is July 15th.

 

 

(New Market, Md) The Town of New Market is providing some financial assistance to its businesses which have been adversely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Mayor Winslow Burhans, III says in a statement that $54,000 is available to local companies to cover expenses  incurred  between March 1st and June 30th of this year.

Businesses can apply for grants at a minimum of $1,000 and a maximum of $12,000 based on the qualifying costs.

The applicants must be located within the town of New Market, and must be in good standing with the Town, County and State, and meet all the requirements listed  by the provider, says Mayor Burhans.   They can find more information on the Town’s website, http://www.townofnewmarket.org/

The deadline to apply is Wednesday, July 15th at 5:00 PM. Responses  to the applicants will be mailed on on July 23rd, and signed grant applications must be sent back to the Town by July 31st at 5:00 PM.

Successful grantees will be required  to sign an agreement before receiving their award., and must  supply reports  with supporting documents to substantiate the expenses that were reimbursed.

The funding for these grants comes from the federal CARES Act.
