Judge Schaffer Named Administrative Judge

He’s responsible for Frederick & Washington Counties.

 

Annapolis, Md (KM) Frederick County District Court Judge Eric Schaffer has been named Administrative Judge for District 11 which covers Frederick and Washington Counties. . His appointment becomes effective August 1st.

As administrative judge, Schaffer will oversee the administration of the court, the budget and procurement functions;  and manage trial calendars and expeditious disposition of cases, according  to a news release from the Maryland Judiciary. .

Schaffer succeeds District Court Judge Dino Flores, who will assist Judge Schaffer as he transitions to his new responsibilities.

“I am honored by the trust and support {Court of Appeals} Chief Judge {Mary Ellen} Barbera and {District Court} Chief Judge {John P] Morrissey have showed in me in my new chapter of service,” said Judge Schaffer, in a statement. “It’s has been a privilege to work with Judge {DIno} Flores, and I intend to build upon his example of thoughtful leadership. I look forward to the opportunity to serve Frederick and Washington Counties and the Maryland Courts in this new role.”

Schaffer has served as District Court Judge in Frederick County since October, 2018.
