Police Car Damaged By Fire In Carroll County

No one was hurt.

 

Eldersburg, Md (KM) A police vehicle caught fire last Friday in Carroll County.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office says a Baltimore City Sheriff’s Deputy was driving a Chevrolet Caprice patrol car along Liberty Road in Eldersburg when a pop sound was heard from the rear. The Deputy pulled into a parking lot at 2030 Liberty Road and saw smoke filling the vehicle. The law officer used a portable extinguisher to try to put out the fire, but was not successful.

Fire fighters responded and had the fire out in five minutes. No one was hurt.

Damage is estimated at $20,000. The cause remains under investigation, but officials say the fire originated in the trunk.
