Equity Resolution Approved By Frederick Aldermen Thurs.

It  requires city officials to consider equity when making decisions.

Frederick, Md (KM) A resolution requiring Frederick City officials to consider equity in any action they take was adopted Thursday night by the Board of Aldermen.

The measure says that developing policies, delivering services and enacting legislation should be considered through the lens of equity.

Alderwoman Kelly Russell,  who sponsored the resolution,  says it does not favor on group of people over another.

One section calls for a review of city documents to make sure they’re equitable,  which could include the City Charter.

The Board discussed this resolution last week.
