The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Southwestern Carroll County in north central Maryland...
  Central Frederick County in north central Maryland...

* Until 345 PM EDT.

* At 247 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Boonsboro, or
  8 miles northwest of Frederick, moving east at 20 mph.

  HAZARD...65 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Damaging winds will cause some trees and large branches
           to fall. This could injure those outdoors, as well as
           damage homes and vehicles. Roadways may become blocked by
           downed trees. Localized power outages are possible.
           Unsecured light objects may become projectiles.

* Locations impacted include...
  Frederick, Thurmont, Harry Grove Stadium, Ballenger Creek, Mount
  Airy, Walkersville, Braddock Heights, New Market, Clover Hill,
  Discovery-Spring Garden, Linganore-Bartonsville, New Windsor,
  Woodsboro, Union Bridge, Libertytown, Monrovia, New Midway, Utica,
  Linwood and Uniontown.


Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
