Frederick, Md (KM) After focused discussion, data gathering, and drafting, the City’s Planning Commission will be discussing the Draft 2020 Comprehensive Plan at its upcoming August 17, 2020 Workshop. The purpose of the workshop is to present the second draft of the 2020 Comp Plan to the Planning Commission based on background data, public input through letters, comments, questionnaire results, and feedback gathered during the series of Special Workshops.
The Comp Plan defines the goals and strategies that will guide the City’s growth and development for the next ten to twenty years and establishes implementation measures and benchmarks to ensure that the community’s vision is put into action and the goals are being met.
The Planning Department launched its efforts to draft the 2020 Comprehensive Plan in July 2019. The community was invited to participate in two questionnaires and special workshops. Staff met with many stakeholders and community groups to gather valuable input throughout the process.
