Frederick, Md (KM) Frederick County is conditionally advancing to Stage Three of the Governor’s plan for reopening the economy.

In a statement, County Executive Jan Gardner says Indoor theater and outdoor theater venues can reopen on Friday, September 4th  at 5:00 PM.  Indoor venues can be at  no more than 50% of capacity, or a maximum of 100 people. Outdoor venues can also open at a maximum of 50% of capacity, or no more than 250 people. Churches and other houses of worship, and retail establishments can open at 75%. of capacity.

“We have made great progress, but we aren’t out of the woods yet,” says County Executive Gardner, in a statement. “Everyone needs to continue wearing masks and staying six-feet or more from others. Together, we can avoid a new wave of cases that would delay the reopening of in-person classes for all students in our schools.”

She also strongly encourages residents and business owners to follow health and safety guidelines to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

County Executive Gardner reminds citizens that if the county’s rolling seven-day average reaches or exceeds ten cases  per 100,000 residents for more  than three consecutive days, Stage Three and portions of Stage Two may be rolled back.
