Three Patients Flown Out Following Crash In Carroll County

Two medivac  helicopters were employed.                                                                                     

 

Manchester, Md (KM) Three people were flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore on Thursday afternoon following a two-vehicle crash near Manchester in Carroll County.

State Police say a Nissan Altima operated by Margie Sowers, 49, of Manchester was traveling southbound along Route 27 near Albert Rill Road when for unknowns, it crossed the center line and struck a Honda Accord driven by Josue Gabriel Santo Mayorga, 24, of Gaithersburg. Mayorga was trapped in his vehicle, and had to be extricated.

Mayogra, Sowers and another passenger in the Altima,  David Bailard, 40, of Manchester, were medivaced. .

Troopers say two State Police Helicopters had to be used to fly out the patients.

Route 27 in that area was closed for almost three hours while troopers conducted their investigation.

State Police say the investigation continues, and anyone who may have witnessed this crash is asked to contact the Westminster Barrack at 410-386-3000. The investigating troopers are Cpl. J. Lantz from the Crash Team, and Tpr Poff from the Patrol Division.
