Dr. Brenda Thiam Chosen To Fill District 2B Seat After Delegate Corderman Resigns

 

She would be the first Republican African American female state legislator in the State of Maryland’s history


Hagerstown, Md. ((DG) – The Washington County Republican Central Committee has decided who will fill the District 2B seat after Delegate Paul Corderman resigned last month.

The committee met on Tuesday, August 25, 2020, and chose Dr. Brenda Thiam to be their nominee. The name will be forwarded to Governor Hogan’s appointments office for confirmation and appointment.

If appointed by the Governor, Dr. Thiam will be the first Republican African American female state legislator in the State of Maryland’s history.
