Damage is estimated in the millions of dollars.
Hagerstown, Md (KM) Damage is estimated at $3-million from an apartment building fire in Hagerstown on Tuesday morning.
The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office says shortly after 11:00 AM, 80 fire fighters responded to the two-alarm blaze at the Rosewood Village Apartments at 19934 Ashfield Court, and spent an hour and half putting out the flames. No one was hurt.
Investigators say the fire started on an exterior balcony and spread to the roof, and then the attic area.
The cause of the fire to the three-story, 26-unit apartment building was accidental due to discarded smoking materials.
The Fire Marshal’s Office says the building had smoke alarms and sprinklers.
