Reward Being Offered For Information In The Shooting Of A Boy In Middletown

 

A $2,500.00 reward for information that leads to the identification of the person(s) responsible.

Frederick, Md. – The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the shooting incident that occurred at the Memorial Park in Middletown July, and are now offering a $2,500.00 reward for information that leads to the identification of the person(s) responsible.

On Monday, July 27th, 2020, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Middletown Memorial Park on South Church Street in Middletown at approximately 12:20 p.m. for reports of a shooting. A 7 year-old male suffered an apparent gunshot wound in the leg while playing basketball at the park. He was transported via helicopter to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center for treatment

Investigators do not believe a gun was fired in the immediate area of the park and believe the shot may have come from further away.
