22-year-old woman killed
Westminster, Md. (DG) – A dirt bike accident in Carroll County on Saturday evening turned deadly for a 22-year-old woman.
The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 3300 block of Murkle Road, west of Route 97, at around 8:15 PM for a report of an accident.
The accident involved two 2016 Yamaha dirt bikes.
Investigators say one dirt bike was being operated by 24-year-old man with a 22-year-old female passenger. The second bike was being operated by 24-year-old man. Both dirt bikes were traveling west on Murkle Road when they collided. No one was wearing a helmet.
The two dirt bike operators were flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore with serious injuries. The female passenger, Sky Danee Campbell, was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The investigation into the accident continues and charges are pending.
