Coronavirus Cases In Frederick County Continue To Rise Locally

Positivity rate is low.                                                                                             

 

Frederick, Md (KM) Both Frederick and Washington Counties continue to see increases in COVID-19 cases. The Maryland Health Department says in Frederick County, there are 4,399 coronavirus cases as of Wednesday, an increase of 20 from Tuesday. The number of deaths remains at 127.

The seven-day positivity rate is 2.4%. That’s the percentage of people who tested positive for the coronavirus out of all of those who were tested over a seven-day period.

The Health Department also says Washington County has 2,039 COVID-19 cases as of Wednesday, which is 53 more compared to the day before. The number of deaths has increased to 41.

Across the state, the Maryland Health Department says there are 132,918 coronavirus cases as of Wednesday, which is an increase of 575 since Tuesday. The number of patients who died from COVID-19 is 3,877, up by nine from the day before.

The Health Department also says there are 1,627,736 people who tested negative for COVID-19 as of Wednesday. That’ an increase of 8,770. The testing volume is 2,954,824 as of Wednesday, up by 21,891 since Tuesday.
