Coronavirus Cases Continue To Increase In Frederick County

Positivity rate remains low.                                                                                                       

 

 

Frederick, Md (KM) More cases of the COVID-19 virus are being reported in our region. The Frederick County Health Department says there are 4,464 coronavirus cases as of Friday afternoon, which is 28 more than on Thursday. The number deaths is currently 129.

The seven-day positivity rate is 2.8%, which is the percentage of patients who tested positive for COVID-19 out of all of those who were tested over a seven-day period.

The Joint Information Center in Washington County reports 2,032 coronavirus cases as of Friday,   an increase of 22 from Thursday. The number of deaths is 42. The positivity rate in Washington County is 2.56%.

Across the state, the Maryland Department of Health reports there are 134,329 COVID-19 cases as of Friday, which is an increase of 781 from Thursday. The number deaths  across the state is 3,887, up by four from the previous day.

Other statistics from the State Health Department show there are 1, 648,128 patients who have tested negative for COVID-19 as of Friday. That’s an increase of 10,841 from Thursday.  .

The percentage of those who tested positive in Maryland is 3.09%. The testing volume is 3,013,107.

The number of people currently hospitalized from the coronavirus in Maryland is . 416, an increase of four from the previous day. .
