Gallagher Running for Re-election to Frederick County Board of Education

Appointed at the beginning of this year, Rae Gallagher is running for re-election to the Board

Frederick, MD (KB) Equipped with a background in education and public administration, Rae Gallagher is seeking re-election to the Frederick County Board of Education. She was appointed to the Board in January 2020 to fill a vacancy left by Joy Schaefer.

“One of my top goals is increasing our access to career technology education opportunities for our students,” said Gallagher. She said that the career technology programs already in place are great, but need to be available to all students.

Gallagher wants to ensure that Frederick County’s public education system continues to meet the varied needs of the community.

“We need to make sure we are remaining competitive — increasing resources for teachers, also reducing class sizes, expanding our mental health and social emotional learning support,” stated Gallagher.

Gallagher knows that an effective Board is collaborative and team-oriented.

In addition to this, she wants to focus on a safe path for students to return to school. As a Frederick County resident and parent of two young children, Gallagher feels as though she has a unique view of the school system that sets her apart from her opponents.

Vote for the Frederick County Board of Education candidates on the same day as the general election, November 3rd.
