Pavement Repairs Taking Place On I-270 In Frederick County

Motorists can expect lane closures.

Frederick, Md (KM) Improvement work is taking place on Interstate 270 in Frederick County. The Maryland State Highway Administration says the work will occur Sunday through Friday from 7:00 PM until 4:00 PM.

Spokeswoman Shantee Felix says it will done on I-270 south of Buckeystown Pike (Md. 85) near the railroad bridge to Fingerboard Road (Md. 80); and northbound form Fingerboard Road (Md 80) north to the Montgomery County line north of Old Hundred Road.

“In both directions of I-270, our crews will be removing and replacing deteriorated sections of concrete,” she says. “And this is part of our ongoing commitment to keep our infrastructure in tip top shape for motorists.”

The cost of the project is $340,000, says Felix.

Motorists traveling that seven-mile stretch of I-270 late at night or early in the morning should expect some delays and  lane closures.. “Motorists in the area will see signs, barrels and cones to alert them about lane closures and guide them through the work zone,” Felix says.

This improvement project is expected to be completed in December.
