The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society will host the Light the Night walk virtually due to pandemic

Frederick, MD (KB) Light the Night is coming to Frederick next month, a fundraising campaign for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Kristin Zimmerman, a spokeswoman for the campaign, said that the walk will look different this year than it has in over 20 years.

“We will be celebrating virtually, we’re going to have one big event together on November 7th,” said Zimmerman. “We will still have all those aspects of the walk — we’ll have the Rememberance Pavillion where people can still go online and leave messages in honor of people that they have lost. We will still be celebrating our survivors, we will still have a Circle of Survivors,” informed Zimmerman.

The virtual Light the Night walk will help raise money to find a cure for blood cancer, which is the most common form of cancer in children and teens.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the only voluntary organization in the country that primarily supports blood cancer. The organization exists to advocate for blood cancer patients and make sure that treatments are accessible for all families affected by the disease.

The walk will take place virtually on Saturday, November 7th from 7 to 8PM. To register for the event or get more information, please visit: www.lightthenight.org/mid-at or call: 443-471-1600.
