Emmitsburg, Md (KM) Work is underway to install a retention pond on the east side of East Main Street (Rt. 140) over Flat Run in Emmitsburg.

The Maryland State Highway Administration says crews will be working weekdays from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM until the project is finished in December. There will be a flagging operation at the bridge between Silo Hill Road and Creamery Road.

Crews will also be working on a sidewalk ramp at East Main Street and Silo Hill Road.

SHA says it’s part of a $5.3-milion project to replace the bridge over Flat Run.

The contractor, Milani Construction, LLC of Washington DC, will use signs, barrels and cones to alert motorists and navigate them through the workzone.
