Pedestrian Killed Tuesday Morning Walking Along I-70 In Washington County

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

He was struck by a tractor trailer.

 

Clear Spring, Md (KM) State Police in Washington County are investigating a fatal pedestrian accident early Tuesday morning.

Troopers say a man identified as Thomas Cox, 38, of Berkeley Springs, West Virginia, was  walking along westbound Interstate 70 in the Clear Spring area was struck by a tractor trailer which was hauling an empty ammonium  nitrate tanker. . .Cox  was thrown over the guardrail.

At the time,  State Police say Cox  was wearing jeans and a dark shirt, and carrying a cooler.

The driver of the tractor trailer is identified as Mickey Dotson of Grayson, Kentucky

The accident is still under investigation, and troopers are asking anyone who have seen Cox  prior to the accident to contact the State Police Barrack in Hagerstown. The number to call is 301-766-3800.
