COVID-19 Cases Continue Climbing In Frederick County

They’re now more than 5800.                                                                   

 

Frederick, Md (KM) Local COVID-19 cases have taken a big jump. The Frederick County Health Department says as of Thursday afternoon, there are 5,859 cases of the coronaivrus,. and that’s an increase of 81 from Wednesday. The number of deaths has gone up by one to 135.

The seven-day positivity rate is  5.5%.. That’s the percentage of patients who tested positive for COVID-19 out of all of those tested over a seven-day period.

In Washington County, the number of coronavirus cases stand at 3,295, with 56 deaths.

Carroll County is reporting 2,880 with 130 deaths, and Howard County has 7,106 cases and 127 deaths.

In Montgomery County, there are 30,298 COVID-19 cases and 878 deaths.

Statewide, the Maryland Department of Health says the number of coronavirus cases has reached 174,737 as of Thursday, which is 2,910 more compared to Wednesday. The number of deaths stands at 4,220, which is 19 more than the day before. The positivity rate is 7.19%.
