The Park Service cites increased security.
Thurmont, Md (KM) If you’re planning to visit Catoctin Mountain Park this weekend, keep this in mind. Due to increased security measures, portions of the park will be closed to the public from Friday at 8:00 AM through Sunday at 8:00 PM.
Park Central Road will be closed between the Thurmont Vista parking lot and the Camp Greentop entrance. Trails to the Hog Rock Overlook and Blue Ridge Summit Vista will be closed. All other trails are open.
Camp David is located at Catoctin Mountain Park.
