COVID-19 Cases Continue Going Up In Frederick County & The Region

The positivity rate has passed 7%.                                                     

Frederick, Md (KM) COVID-19 cases continue going up in Frederick County. As of Tuesday afternoon, the Health Department reports there are 6,949 coronavirus cases since the pandemic began, and that’s 78 more than on Monday. The number of deaths remains at 142.

The county’s seven-day positivity rate is 7.3%. That’s the percentage of patients who tested positive for COVID-19 out of all of those tested over a seven-day period.

Across the region in Washington County, the number of coronavirus cases is 4,375, with 135 deaths. Carroll County is reporting 3,366 cases with 135 deaths. In Montgomery County, there are 33, 905 and 918 deaths. Howard County is reporting 8,212 COVID-19 cases with 142 deaths.

In all of Maryland, the State Department of Health is reporting 201,135 coronavirus cases, which is 2,765 more than the day before. The number of deaths is 4,514 as of Tuesday, 30 more than on Monday. The are currently 1,583 patients hospitalized for COVID-19, and that’s 56 more than the day before. Maryland’s positivity rate stands at 7.33%.
