Coronavirus Cases Keep Going Up In Frederick County

They’ve passed the 8,000 mark.                                                                   

 

Frederick, Md (KM) The number of COVID-19 cases continues to climb in Frederick County. The Health Department says as of Thursday afternoon, there are 8,226 cases of the coronavirus which is an increase of 152 from Wednesday.  Deaths from COVID-19 remain  at 147.

The seven-day positivity rate is 8.2%. That’s the percentage of patients who test positive for the coronavirus out of all of those people tested over a seven-day period.

Across the region in Washington County, there are 5,425 COVID-19 cases, and 90 deaths. Carroll County is reporting 3,882 coronavirus cases, and 145 deaths. In Montgomery County,  there are 37,738 COVID-19 cases, and 958 deaths. Howard County is reporting 9.280 cases of the coronavirus and 157 deaths.

Statewide, the Maryland Department of Health says as of Thursday, there are 225, 855 coronavirus cases  in Maryland , which is a jump of 3,202 from Wednesday. There are 4,850 deaths from COVID-19 in the state, and that’s an increase of 49 from the day before. The positivity rate in Maryland is 7.71%, The number of patients hospitalized from the coronavirus is 1,720.
