Coronavirus Cases In Frederick County Surpass 10,000

More than 1,900 new COVID-19 cases in Maryland following the end of  the holiday weekend.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Frederick, Md (KM) The COVID-19 numbers keep increasing in Frederick County. The Health Department says as of Monday, there are 10,788 cases of the coronavirus; that’s 118 more than on Monday. There are 174 deaths, which is three more than the day before.

The seven-day positivity rate is 8.9%. . That’s the percentage of patients testing positive for COVID-19 out of all of those who were tested over a seven-day period.

In Maryland, the State Health Department reports 269,183 COVID-19 cases as of Monday since the pandemic began, which is 1,985 additional since Sunday. There are 5,573 deaths which is 28 more than the day before. The State’s positivity rate is 7.24%. This follows the Christmas Holiday weekend.

In other parts of the state, Washington County has 7,730 cases and 136 deaths as of Monday. Carroll County reports 4,970 coronavirus cases, and 161 deaths.

Montgomery County has the highest number in the region, with 45,050 COVID-19 cases, and 1,061 deaths. In Howard County, the Maryland Health Department is reporting 10,898 cases, and 170 deaths.
