Fire Damages House In Clear Spring

Clear Spring, Md (KM) A house fire in Clear Spring on Sunday afternoon is being labeled as accidental.

Shortly after 12:00 PM, fire fighters responded to 157 Cumberland Road for a fire at a single family home. It took 35 fire fighters 15-minutes to bring the flames under control. No one was hurt.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office says damage is estimated at $2,000 to the structure. .

Investigators says the fire originated in an attic crawl space, and was caused by the failure of the electrical wiring in the floor.

The Red Cross assisted the occupant of the home due to the power being shut off.
