The School System says coronavirus metrics are worsening.
Frederick, Md (KM) Frederick County Public Schools have suspended small group instruction and winter sports practices due to worsening health metrics when it comes to COVID-19. All instruction will be virtual until further notice. These changes are set to take affect on January 4th. .
Teachers can still enter their classrooms to do on-line instruction, and students who need the internet to access remote leaning. can still come into the school buildings. Staff cab get into the buildings, but telework is encouraged, according to FCPS.
In statement, the School System says over the last three days, coronavirus metrics from the Health Department and the Centers for Disease Control have reached all time highs. FCPS says it will continue ,monitoring the health metrics and confer with the Health Department.
These current metrics affect the ability to implement hybrid learning which was expected to begin on January 28th. The School System says it will have more details later this week regarding a new schedule to begin hybrid learning..
FCPS urges the community to be patient, and watch out for additional updates.
