COVID-19 Cases In Frederick County Rise Above 12,000

Frederick, Md (KM) COVID-19 cases in Frederick County keep going up. The Health Department says as of Monday, there have been 12, 054 coronavirus cases since the pandemic began, and that’s 186 more than on Sunday. The number of deaths remains at 190.

The seven-day positivity rate for the county is 11.5%. That’s the percentage of patients testing positive for COVD-19 out of all of those tested over a seven-day period.

Across the region, Montgomery County continues to have the highest number of coronavirus cases at 48,089, with `1,097 deaths. In Carroll County, there are 5,392 cases of COVID-19, and 166 deaths. Washington County is reporting 8,766 coronavirus cases, and 155 deaths. And in Howard County,  there are 11,657 COVID-19 cases, and 175 deaths.

The  Maryland Department of Health says the number of COVID-19 cases as of Monday is 287,802 cases, which is an increase of 2,483 since Sunday. The number of deaths across the state is 5,859, 33 more than the day before.

Maryland’s positivity rate is 9.47%,and the number patients hospitalized for COVID-19 is 1,751.
