Frederick, Md (KM) The Frederick Police Department says it continues to investigate destruction of property incidents in the downtown where non-ballistic projectiles have been shot at business’ windows. It says officers have taken 41 total reports, and so far these incidents appear to be random, although several locations have been struck more than once.

The Department says it shares the frustration the victims feel and it’s doing all it can to stop this vandalism. Detective Sharpe has assigned to these cases, and the Patrol Division has assigned more officers to affected areas.

But police are asking for citizens to come forward if they have information on these incidents. They say in most incidents like this, someone has information which can solve this case. If business owners have any video  recorded   on cameras, they can contact Detective Sharpe.

Residents can also call into the Tip Line at 301-600-TIPS (8477). They can also send an e-mail to [email protected], or send a text message to 240-674-TIPS (8477)

The City of Frederick also participates in Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland, and anyone submitting information which leads to an arrest or criminal charges could receive a cash reward. Go to http://metrocrimestoppers.org/submit-a-tip for more information.
