Frederick, Md (KM) The application process for Frederick County’s Agricultural Innovation Grants is now underway.
Farmers who are crop and livestock producers, along with agricultural cooperatives, seafood processors, value-added producers, or primary or secondary timber products processors are eligible to apply. The grants can be used for research and development, production buildings, major fixtures or processing facilities.
These competitive grants of $5,000 or more can help expand or diversify farmers’ business operations.
The deadline to apply is February first. Each applications will be scored by a review committee, which will recommend awards to the County Executive. The process is expected to take six weeks after the application period closes. .
