COVID-19 Cases Continue Going Up In Frederick County

Deaths rose by two since Tuesday.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Frederick, Md (KM) They just keep on climbing. The Frederick County Health Department says the number of local COVID-19 cases stand at 12, 309 as of Wednesday. That’s an increase of 119 compared to Tuesday. Deaths from the coronavirus also went up by two to 194 as of Wednesday. .

The local, seven-day positivity rate is 11.4%. . That’s the percentage of patients who tested positive for COVID-19 out of all of those tested over a seven-day period.

In other jurisdictions, the Maryland Department of Health says the number of coronavirus cases in Washington County is 9,063, and there have been 161 deaths. In Carroll County, there are 5,538 COVID-19 cases, and 178 deaths. Howard County is reporting 11,885 cases of the coronavirus, and 176 deaths. In Montgomery County, there are 68,864 COVID-19 cases, and 1,114 deaths.

Statewide, there are 289, 758 cases of COVID-19 as of Wednesday. That’s 1,956 more compared to Tuesday. The number of deaths is 5,913, which is 54 more than the day before.

The positivity rate is 9.19%, and the number of patients hospitalized for the coronavirus is 1,771 as of Wednesday. That’s 20 more than on Tuesday.
