Hagerstown, Md (KM) Meritus Health is scheduling appointments for Washington County residents age 65 and older to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. The hospital in Hagerstown says it has the supply of vaccines, and can accelerate on who can receive the vaccine next.

Dr. Maulik Joshi, President and Chef Executive Officer of Meritus Health, says the hospital will do its part “to get as many people in our community vaccinated for this virus as safely and as quickly as possible.”

Vaccinations will continue to be offered to health care professionals and first responders as required by the Maryland Health Department.

“Currently, almost one out  of every five people in our area is testing positive for COVID-19 and we can’t normalize that,” says Dr. Joshi. “We have to do everything we can to stop this continuing spread of the virus.”

If you’re a Washington County resident who wants the shot, you need to make an appointment by calling 301-790-8490. The hours are from 12-noon to 4:30 PM on Wednesday, January 6th, and 8:00 AM until 4:30 PM Thursday and Friday, January 7th and 8th.
