Businesses that received funding in the fall will automatically receive a second grant

Frederick, MD (KB) Frederick County Executive Jan Gardner announced a second round of grants to support local restaurants and food service businesses. The first round was distributed in the fall.

“Previously we awarded $2.5 million dollars in grants to over 200 businesses that were in the food service sector,” she said.

Gardner said businesses that received funding in the first round will automatically receive a second grant, but eligible businesses that did not will need to submit an online application.

“We are going to try hard to get this information out to all of our licensed food service providers. Because this is sit-down restaurants, but it’s also other types of food service providers,” she explained.

The County Executive said the funding will also apply to food trucks, carry-out restaurants with no seating, commercial bakeries, wineries, breweries, distilleries, and caterers.

Eligible businesses must be located in Frederick County and must be in good standing with the County and State of Maryland.

Applications for the additional funding will be accepted until 3 p.m. on Wednesday, January 13th.
