Frederick County Grand Jury Indicts One Of Three Suspects In A Homicide

Frederick, Md (KM) One of three suspects charged in a homicide in September in Frederick was indicted on Friday by the Frederick County Grand Jury. Brian Braheem Henry, 27, of Clarksburg, is charged with 1st-degree murder, conspiracy to commit 1st-degree murder, 1st-degree assault, conspiracy to commit 1st-degree assault, 2nd-degree assault, conspiracy to commit 2nd-degree assault, use of a firearm in a crime of violence, conspiracy to use a firearm in a crime of violence and being an accessory after the fact in a 1st-degree murder.

State’s Attorney Charlie Smith says the victim in this case is Jaemari Anderson, 19, of Frederick. He was found along a walking path in the Waterside community. Anderson was medivaced to Shock Trauma in Baltimore where he died. “The doctors advised the detectives that Anderson had been shot once in the head. And their investigation that they embarked on led them to Brian Henry,” says Smith.

The other two defendants are Jordan Hooks, 27, of Frederick, and Daniel Alonzo Flythe, 26, of Silver Spring.

The Grand Jury also returned an indictment against Rufus Edward Goodman, 53, of Monrovia for four counts of theft between $100 and $1500, two counts of 2nd-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit 2nd-degree burglary, theft between $1500 and $25,000, 4th-degree burglary, two counts of theft, two counts of malicious destruction of property of less than $1,000, motor vehicle theft, being a rogue and a vagabond, robbery, 2nd-degree assault, impersonating a police officer, five counts of credit card theft, six counts of charging to another person’s person credit card of less than $100, and two counts of charging to another person’s credit card between $100 and $1500.

Smith says Goodman came upon a woman sitting in her car, and, claiming to be a police officer, asked for her identification. “He asked her for her car keys so she could not drive away. He take her  purse and flees,” he says.

There were also a number of domestic violence cases, says Smith. Ryan Wayne Flook, 29, of Frederick, was indicted for 1st-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault and false imprisonment. for a domestic incident which occurred last month involving his girlfriend. “The victim stated that Flook tried to strangle her. He punched in the head, grabbed her by the hair, and threw her against a large screen TV during the argument.

Another domestic violence case involved Ryan Hash, 28, of Edgewater, whose charged with 1st-degree assault and 2nd-degree assault for an incident which occurred on December 9th, 2020 in Frederick. “An incident that the FPD {Frederick Police Department} responded to over at the 500 block of Riggs Court in December. The caller had stated her daughter was strangled by her boyfriend…….When they responded, they observed noticeable injuries to the victim’s neck,” says Smith.

Other indictment included:

*Cung Chin Thang, 21, of Frederick, whose charged with possession with intent to distribute heroin, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, use of a firearm in drug trafficking, drug distribution with a firearm, use of a firearm in a violent crime, possession of a stolen regulated firearm, access to a firearm by minors, possession of heroin, possession of fentanyl and possession of ten grams or more of marijuana, for an incident which occurred on December 9th, 2020.

Two codefendants were indicted on Friday. They are:

*Paytan David White, 24, of Hagerstown, whose charged with possession of a large amount of drugs, possession with intent to distribute and possession of fentanyl, and possession of paraphernalia (a glass pipe used for smoking cocaine) for an incident which occurred on June 24th, 2020.

*Joshua Wayne Fraley, 25, of Hagerstown, whose charged with possession of a large amount of drugs, possession with intent to distribute and conspiracy of possession with intent to distribute fentanhyl and possession of paraphernalia for an incident which occurred on June 24th, 2020.

These indictments would normally move these cases to the Circuit Court where trial dates will be scheduled. But jury trials are on hold until late April due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
