Frederick County Public Schools’ Academic Tournament To Be Virtual This Year

Contests among high schools will be recorded and posted on line.

 

 

 

 

 

Frederick, Md (KM) Things will be a little different for this year’s Frederick County Academic Tournament. The Public School System says the contests among local high schools will be virtual this year, with the first tournament taking place on Friday, January 8th..

The contests will continue through next month with the tournament finals on Friday, February 26th.

Each FCPS high school will participate in the tournament, with teams competing against two or three other schools.

The matches will feature a themes, starting with the elements of the periodic table in the first week. Empires and emperors will be covered in the second week, and American authors and their works will take place in week three.

The virtual matches will be recorded and posted on line. They can be viewed hereĀ (https.//www.fcps.org/academic-tournament) on Monday after the matches are completed.

This is the 40th years for the tournament. Walkersville High won the regular season and the tournament championship last year.
