House In Sharpsburg Undergoing Renovations Damaged By Fire

The Md. State Fire Marshal’s Office says the cause was accidental.                                                   

 

 

Sharpsburg, Md (KM) Fire damaged a single family home in Sharpsburg Monday evening.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office says fire fighters responded to 5029 Harpers Ferry Road shortly after 6:00 PM, and spent ten-minutes bringing the flames under control. No one was injured. Damage is estimated at $20,000/.

Investigators say the fire was accidental due to an electrical failure.

The home was unoccupied at the time of the fire and was undergoing renovations. The owner was checking on the house and saw that the windows were black. He noticed a fire inside when he opened door. He then closed the door and called 911.
