Three Arrested In WV For Attempted Theft Incident

Police say they were caught cutting  catalytic converters from vehicles.

 

 

 

 

 

Kearneysville, WV (KM) Three suspects have been arrested in connection with an attempted theft early Tuesday morning.

The Jefferson County, West Virginia Sheriff’s Office says just after 1:00 ,AM, deputies responded to Todd Electric at 197 Edmond Road in Kearneysville for a theft in progress. When they arrived, deputies saw two men cutting catalytic converters off of vehicles inside the company’s secure parking lot..

One man identified as Timothy Wayne Kirby, 32, was taken into custody without incident. But the second man, identified as Scott Douglass McDonough, 34, fled the scene on foot. A deputy chased McDonough across WV Route 9 and War Admiral Boulevard. ..He was apprehended in a field near Childrens Way. .

A search of the area located Alycia Nicole Kirby, 35, who was in the driver’s seat of a vehicle parked around the corner. The Sheriff’s Office says she was the driver of a “getaway” vehicle and she was taken into custody.

The Sheriff’s Office says McDonough and Timothy Kirby are each charged with breaking and entering, destruction of property, conspiracy to commit breaking and entering, and conspiracy to commit destruction of property.

Alycia Kirby is charged with conspiracy to commit breaking and entering, and conspiracy to commit destruction property.

All three suspects were placed under arrest and transported to the Eastern Regional Jail.
