Frederick, Md. (DG) – The Frederick County Public School System announced Wednesday they will continue their plan to implement hybrid learning starting February 16th.

Teachers have been asked to return to their school buildings January 27th.

FCPS Superintendent Dr. Terry Alban stated in an email that it has now been more than two weeks since the end of the holiday season and she felt comfortable asking teachers and students to return.

Alban added that if metrics begin to increase again between now and February 16th, the hybrid model could once again be delayed.

FCPS will resume winter sports on Monday, January 25. One week of traditional practices and intrasquad scrimmages will be followed by a two-week competition season that will run from Monday February 1st thru Friday, February 12th.

Fall sports are scheduled to begin February 13th.

Spectators will not be permitted to attend athletic events. Schools will livestream events on YouTube.
