Frederick County Coronavirus Cases Continue To Increase

Most cases reported  in the Frederick city area.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Frederick, Md (KM) COVID-19 cases in Frederick County keep climbing. The Health Department says as of Tuesday afternoon, there have been 15, 216 cases of the coronavirus since the pandemic began, which is an increase of 103 since Monday. Most of these cases are in the Frederick city area.

The number of deaths is 232, which is one more than the day before.

The County’s seven-day positivity rate is 7.4%, which is the percentage of patients who test positive for COVD-19 out of all those tested over a seven-day period.

The Health Department also says so far 16, 427 patients have received their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, and 2,074  second doses been administered locally.

In Washington County, the Joint Information Center reports 11,379 COVID-19 cases, which is79 more than the last update on Monday, January 25th. The number of deaths is 217, seven more that on Monday.

The positivity rate is 10.6%, and the number of vaccine doses  administered in Washington County is 10,594. 58 people have been hospitalized in Washington County, according to the Joint Information Center.

Across the region, the Maryland Department of Health reports Carroll County with 6,697 COVID-19 cases, and 164 deaths. In Howard County, there  are 13,138 coronavirus cases, and 195 deaths. Montgomery County has 57,326 cases of COVID-19, and 1,240 deaths.

Statewide, the Health Department says there are 344,620 coronavirus cases as of Tuesday, which is an increase of 1,482 from Monday. The number of deaths is 6,788 which is 62 more than the previous day.

The positivity rate for Maryland is 6.64%.

There are 1,642 patients hospitalized for COVID-19. The number of patients testing negative for the coronavirus  as of Tuesday is 3,793,416, which is 6,332 more from Monday.
