Hospitalizations For COVID-19 Decline In Frederick County

Frederick, Md (KM) Local hospitalizations due to COVID-19 are dropping. The Frederick County Health Department  says as of Wednesday, there are 60 coronavirus patients at Frederick Health Hospital. compared to 71 on Tuesday, January 19th. . The number of patients in the ICU is 52. which is down from a high of 63 on Monday of last week.

As of Thursday, there are re 15, 342 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Frederick County since the pandemic began, which is 103 more than on Wednesday. There have been  232 deaths from COVID-19 in Frederick County, an increase of one from the day before.

The local seven-day positivity rate is 6.6% percent. That’s the percentage of patients testing positive for COVID-19 out of all those tested over a seven-day period.

The Health Department says 17, 885 residents have been vaccinated with the first dose, and 2,772 have received the second dose.

Across the region, the Maryland Department of Health reports 6,808 coronavirus cases in Carroll County, and 188 deaths. In Washington County, there have been 11,228 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began, and 219 deaths. Montgomery County is reporting 58,011 coronavirus cases, and 1,250 deaths. Howard County has had 14,330 cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic began, and 195 deaths.

Statewide, the Health Department reports Maryland has 348,749 coronavirus cases as of Thursday, which is 2,190 more than on Wednesday. 6,861 deaths have been reported, which is 40 more than the day before. The state’s positivity rate is 6.15%, and the number of patients hospitalized for COVID-19 is 1,636 as of Thursday, which is a decrease of 11 from Wednesday.
